Travel on Hwy 54 about 30 miles east from Santa Barbara. Take a backwoods mountain road for about ten more miles into the winding hills, past Neverland Ranch, and you will find yourself at Heaven's Door. No, it's not the Ponderosa, or Butte, Montana, but the good ol' Mountain Figueroa Farmhouse in Los Olivos.
Azure skies and clean, crisp air are abundant and traces of civilization are not to be found. An unlikely, yet magical spot for a wedding, Rembrandt braved the wind and the chilly weather to deliver an amazing performance in a rustic setting. On a night where the guests really needed to keep moving for warmth, Rembrandt gave them a work out, with one R&B classic after another, peppered with just enough Horas to keep the purists huddled and happy. The Katzir and Orgel families had many guests fly in from the east coast. It was hard convincing them that this was actually California.
Take a look at Minh's photo montage, set to the music of Rembrandt, as always, taken from the actual performance. And look for Minh. He's the one with his head in the clouds.
